Just one year out of Drake University School of Law, Cory and his wife, Diane, came to Fairbanks in July of 1982. As the newly hired Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer for First National Bank of Fairbanks, he was responsible for management of the Fairbanks office and administration of personal trusts and employee benefit plans.
Cory remained with First National Trust Department until July of 1984, when he left to start his own law practice. After two years of sharing offices with Jim Nordale, he joined the Fairbanks office of the law firm of Birch Horton Bittner & Cherot in November of 1986, becoming a partner in 1990. He developed a practice involving commercial litigation and has represented the local electric utility since 1989.
Since 1983, Cory has been an adjunct faculty member for the School of Management at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he teaches Business Law. |
